Auch wenn ich den Newsletter abboniert habe und die Augen stets offen gehalten habe, so hab ich es doch erst heute mitbekommen… Wolfram|Alpha ist jetzt online. Ich hatte es ja schonmal im März erwähnt, dass hier vielleicht ein Google-Killer erwachen könnte.

Mit dieser neuen Art der Suche möchten die Entwickler, das Wissen im Internet berechenbar machen. Dazu werden z.B. bei der Suche nach Städten, die Bevölkerungsgröße, das derzeitige Wetter, eine Karte und etc. angezeigt. Desweiteren kann man nach chemischen Formel suchen und bekommt allerlei Dinge dargestellt. Mathematische Ausdrücke kann man auch berechnen lassen. Hier werden dann Funktionsgraphen, Ableitungen und auch Integrale dargestellt.

Jedoch wenn man aus dem wissenschaftlichen Bereich herausgeht, wird schnell klar das nicht alles berechenbar ist, zumindest nicht für Wolfram|Alpha. Bei manchen meiner Suchen kam “Wolfram|Alpha isn’t sure what to do with your input“. Achja hab ich ja noch nicht erwähnt, bis jetzt gibt es nur eine englische Version, ob eine anderssprachige Version noch erscheinen wird, ist mir bis dato nicht bekannt.

Also probiert es aus. Ich würd gern eure Erfahrungen hören, ob es brauchbar ist und eine gute Alternative werden kannn zu Google. Von dem Killer hab ich mich jetzt verabschiedet, denn das glaub ich wird das Projekt nicht werden.
